Hello Visitor. Welcome To 'Abandoned Land'

Abandoned Land is where life's forgotten dreams, imaginary friends and other such stuff ends up. They don't die. They live on somewhere in time and space.

This was the idea for a book. A book which may never be written. Therefore the idea of Abandoned Land, the book, must also reside in Abandoned Land, the blog. 

Abandoned Land is where the dreams of animals live on. 

Abandoned Land is where my two childhood imaginary friends, Journey & Fludo live on. 

The title is also a reference to the colonising British regarding this country of Australia as Terra Nullius. My connection to Australia only goes back to convict and redcoat ancestors who arrived in 1794, became a couple and started a family. I don't have 60000 years of connection to this country. I like this country. I identify with it. Basically love it. We have seen better days, in some ways, but in other ways things are gradually lumbering in the right direction. 

My novel for children or anyone who cares to read it, The Fire Trail, (https://www.thefiretrail.com/) also probably resides in Abandoned Land. Inspired by more than 40 years of sights & experiences, I started writing it 20 years ago. I self published it this year, after years of knockbacks from publishers. I guess maybe that means it's crap. I never felt that way about it but I know I'm odd with a very different way of looking at things. Maybe I'm on the autism spectrum? I really don't know. No shrink has ever told me that; and I've seen plenty of them over the last 32 years. Finally gave up on shrinks this year. Also gave up on religion this year. Seems like a year of giving up. Is it a year of giving up hope? The world looks bad, depending on how you look at it.

If things go very bad, maybe this planet too will become Abandoned Land some day.
